When it comes to education, there is something for everyone in Arizona. We’re here to help families explore the many school options available, and celebrate each one through creative storytelling, relevant and fun resources, and practical support so every family can love their school!

Sure, Love Your School is a great resource for Arizona families looking for the best schooling options for their children, but it’s so much more. We serve as an outlet to share the latest and greatest happenings in AZ education by providing content that is relevant to families and educators.
Everyone has a story and we want to tell it.
LYS highlights the personal stories of Arizona families that love their school in order to encourage parents and teachers with tales of educational excellence found throughout the state.

We also help families navigate the school options available to them. So if you’re curious about Tuition tax credits, Empowerment Scholarships, open enrollment, microschools, homeschooling, or anything in between, Love Your School is here to help, every step of the way! How We Started

Arizona native and mother of five, Jenny Clark knows full well the unique variations in how children learn. They thrive in a variety of different educational environments. Jenny grew up in Arizona, attended her local district school from K-12, and then continued on to the University of Arizona and received a BSBA in Business Economics. Today, she utilizes a variety of schooling options for her own family, and loves sharing with other families about their options and helping them find the right fit for their kids!

That’s what inspired Love Your School. Jenny wanted to create an avenue for families and schools to share more about the amazing ways Arizona kids are learning, and growing, and loving their education – whether they are in district, charter, private, online, homeschool, microschool, learning pod, or receive an Arizona Empowerment Scholarship.

George Khalaf

Board chairman

George serves as President of Data Orbital and Managing Partner of The Resolute Group. For the last decade he has leveraged his political instincts, data expertise and strategic relationships to advance conservative clients and causes throughout Arizona and a growing number of states.

In addition to his domestic political work, George is engaged in efforts to advance democracy and prosperity in Lebanon and lift up the Lebanese people both in the United States and in Lebanon.

George has two boys who make use of school choice options in Arizona and wants to ensure every parent has access to the education method that BEST fits their child.

Hannah Woodruff

Vice Chairman

Hannah Woodruff has been on the Board of Love Your School since its launch in 2018. She is passionate about the work of Love Your School to help every family find the right educational option for their child. Her background is in education with her undergraduate in Elementary and Special Education and her masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Autism. She was a special education in an Arizona public school for two years before transitioning to in-home therapy for families of children with autism.

Jason Bedrick

Jason Bedrick a research fellow in the Center for Education Policy at The Heritage Foundation, where he focuses on policies that promote education freedom and choice, religious liberty, classical education, and restoring the primary role of families in education. Previously Bedrick served as the director of policy at EdChoice, a nonprofit
founded by Milton and Rose Friedman to advance education freedom and choice. He is also an adjunct scholar with the Cato Institute, where he once served as a policy analyst with the Center for Educational
Freedom. He also served as a legislator in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. Bedrick received his master’s degree in public policy, with a focus on education policy, from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, where he was a fellow at the Taubman Center for State and Local Government. Bedrick resides in Phoenix with his wife and five children.

Katherine Haley

Katherine has 20 years of experience in public policy and philanthropy. Over the course of her career, she has established extensive networks across the country and expanded education opportunity, built coalitions to advance federal policies that improve school choice and workforce readiness, and mobilized resources to strengthen civil society

Before founding Oak Rose Group, she served as the vice president of programs and senior director of K-12 programs at The Philanthropy Roundtable (Roundtable) from 2016 to 2020 where she helped donors across the country make strategic investments to break down barriers to opportunity and strengthen their communities.

Prior to joining the Roundtable, Katherine spent 13 years working for members of the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate to advance policies that lead to human flourishing. She served for seven years as the chief policy advisor on education, workforce, antipoverty, global health, and other social issues to former Speaker of the House John Boehner. Motivated by the belief that all students deserve access to a great education, Katherine was instrumental in the successful reauthorization of the D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program. She previously served as a policy advisor and legislative assistant to Representative Pete Hoekstra, and a legislative aide to Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison.

In March 2022, Governor Doug Ducey appointed Katherine to a 3-year term on the Arizona State Board of Education. She also serves on the boards of 50CAN, Love Your School and The Trinity Forum, is a member of American Enterprise Institute’s Leadership Network, Faith & Public Life Ideas Council and Conservative Education Reform Network, and is an active supporter of Opportunity International and International Justice Mission.

A native of Arizona, Katherine received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Duke University and her master’s degree in government from Johns Hopkins University. Katherine lives in Scottsdale, Arizona and enjoys traveling, running, playing tennis, skiing, learning new things, and spending time with family and friends.

Adam Kissel

Adam Kissel, visiting fellow on higher education reform at The Heritage Foundation, was deputy assistant secretary for higher education programs at the U.S. Department of Education, vice president of the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, senior program officer at the Charles Koch Foundation, and director of civic and higher education programs at The Philanthropy Roundtable. He lives and works in West Virginia and is a senior fellow at the Cardinal Institute for West Virginia Policy.

Jen Russum

Jennifer Russum is an Associate Professor of English and Communication at Arizona Christian University. Before earning a Ph.D. in English Rhetoric and Composition at Arizona State University, Jennifer taught high school in Texas and Washington State. Now she devotes her time to teaching college composition and journalism classes and helping direct ACU’s first Hispanic-Serving Institute grant, “The Esperanza Project.” Jennifer is a mom to four daughters and is thankful for the many school choice options available to Arizona families.

Lucy Willing

Operations Manager

Lucy is passionate about school choice and empowering families to find school options that serve them best. New to Arizona, she was amazed
that a state can offer so many education possibilities for families!
Lucy has a Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies from Lancaster Bible College with a focus in counseling. She is also currently working towards her MABTS at Phoenix Seminary. Lucy worked in early childhood development programs serving children ages one to five, and also spent years tutoring and academic-mentoring students ages 14-22 in the United States, Lebanon, Slovakia, and the Netherlands. Lucy knows first-hand how important individualized education is for students and is grateful
to live in Arizona where children are given the opportunity to attend
a school that allows them to thrive!

Lindsey White

Parent Support Coordinator

Lindsey White and her family have called the East Valley home since 2015.  She grew up on a dairy farm in Northern Indiana and graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Organizational Communication. Moving to Arizona just as her older daughter was about to enter
Kindergarten, Lindsey was amazed (and a little overwhelmed!) at the
varied school options available. Lindsey loves working with a team
that is dedicated to helping families navigate their options and find a school that they LOVE.

Deanna Dworak

Hello! My name is Deanna! I grew up in Colorado and moved to Arizona for college. I fell in love with the warm weather and sunsets and decided to stay. I have taught 4th grade and worked with kids in the foster care system and have found a deep passion for all kids to be in a school environment where they can grow and learn. I am so
thankful that I get to connect with parents and students daily and help them find the best school fit for them.

Tatiana Marchuk

Grassroots Coordinator

Tatiana Peña was born, raised, and currently resides in South Phoenix. She grew up attending public schools in South Phoenix, as well as Tempe. She earned a bachelor’s degree in multi-lingual and multi-cultural education at Arizona State University. She worked as a teacher in public, internationally, and private schools teaching from pre-school- 1st grade. Tatiana completed a Master’s in Public Administration from Grand Canyon University. She is married and has five daughters. Knowing how valuable a good education can be to give children better opportunities for success, Tatiana values giving children and families educational equality through school choice. She loves advocating for families to have better access to quality education, whether it be through public or private options. Tatiana is fluent in Spanish and regularly works to help immigrant families find better solutions to meet the needs of their children in education.

Marta Mac Ban

Parent Support Specialist

Marta MacBan is a mom of two beautiful girls. She grew up in Arizona at a time when every child went to their neighborhood public school. Now she is a parent she has learned there are so many great options in Arizona and that there is not one fit for every child. Her passion for education has grown since having children. After exploring a few options, her family is now part of a cottage school so that they can learn together as a family and as a community. She loves helping other families learn about the various school options and programs out there to find a school they love!

Linda Crosby

Parent Support Specialist

Linda Crosby is an author, speaker, humorist and homeschool mom from Phoenix, Arizona. She has taught in public and private schools, kindergarten, junior high and special education. For 21 years Rick and Linda homeschooled their four children and she taught high school literature/history classes. Linda has been encouraging audiences across the USA and Canada since 2003 with a message of hope, laughter, and endurance. Her book titles include Laughing in the Midst of Mothering and Laughing in the Midst of Marriage. Rick and Linda served on the Arizona homeschool board for six years and graduated their last homeschooler in 2022. The Crosbys participated in the Empowerment Scholarship Account for six years. Linda takes a fancy to playing board games, fishing, painting, and nature journaling, all of which were incorporated in their homeschool adventure. Her mission is to spread joy!

Brittany Master

Parent Support Specialist

Brittany is a mom of three who loves talking schools. She has personal experience in most every type of school setting and is proud to be from AZ where we have so many school choices. Growing up she experienced public school, homeschooling, and private schools. Currently, two
of her kids are in a charter school and one is at a public district school. Professionally, Brittany
has a degree from Grand Canyon University in Elementary Education and began her career as a teacher in Chandler. After her first child was
born, she started and ran an in-home preschool
and substitute taught in multiple districts giving her valuable insight into many local schools. Brittany later worked as a curriculum writer and editor for an online school’s curriculum company. As an educator and a parent, she knows firsthand how overwhelming it can be to navigate all the school options, so she jumped right in and started assisting families through
School Search Consulting. Brittany absolutely loves helping families find the best school choice
for their children.

Annie Meade

Parent Support Specialist

Moving to Arizona 10 years ago, Annie didn’t realize that one of the things she would love most about living here is the freedom in education. Her family has been homeschooling in a variety of contexts for 9 years. They have enjoyed the community, accountability and encouragement of co-ops and the freedom to travel with her husband’s work schedule. Homeschooling has given them more time as a family and more free time in their week. A few years ago, they enrolled their oldest in a charter school and saw firsthand how education needs to fit each student. Each of their 4 kids have flourished in a setting that fits them at that time. Many fellow homeschoolers have helped her navigate the challenges and joys of homeschool. She wants to pay it forward with other families as they begin their journey. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring national parks and reading a good children’s novel or classic literature.
